These meals typically include disposable plastic utensils, contributing significantly to environmental pollution in Hong Kong. ShareLife addresses this problem by offering a reusable utensil set—comprising a stainless steel spoon, fork, and chopsticks—that is durable and eco-friendly. Users can borrow a set for 24 hours at just HKD $5. If the utensils are not returned on time, a fee of $15 will be charged. Collection boxes are placed in shopping malls, and utensils are collected daily at noon for professional cleaning before reuse. Borrowing is easy: users tap the NFC sticker, fill out a simple form, and choose from multiple payment options like Alipay, Octopus, WeChat Pay, or even cash. To encourage more sustainable choices, ShareLife offers a membership program called "ShareUtensils" through its app. For only HKD $7 per month, members receive exclusive coupons, three free utensil borrows monthly, and a free trial upon first download. This service empowers busy individuals to protect the environment with minimal effort and promotes a cleaner, greener future.
